How cute is this new app I found recently?!

Thought I would share because this app is so fun to just play around with. You can cartoonize yourself with this app, choose your clothing, hair style, accessorize cartoon self, and even make videos with your character (head to my Instagram to see the CNY-themed video I made with this app!)

It's a Chinese app so if you don't know how to read mandarin then you might have some problems accessing this app, though you could always just figure it out by playing around with it.

Happy CNY!!

Know this is slightly belated but Happy Chinese New Year!!

This is the 4th CNY I've spent away from home now so I'm already quite used to it, although the constant flow of food pictures on fb/instagram/etc from back home is not helping.. 

Had reunion dinner with a bunch of my friends from Singapore & Malaysia on the eve of CNY! Nice to have friends from home! Went to Wings Restaurant here in Manchester which is on the Michelin Guide. Apparently this was where David and Victoria Beckham had their first date. Wayne Rooney also had his lunch earlier at this restaurant on the day we went (so I was told).. Too bad we didn't see any famous people /footballers.... Not that I care much for football so maybe I just didn't recognize them even if they were there.... Definitely ate in abundance! Too bad there wasn't any lou hei though.. Definitely only a Singaporean/Malaysian thing. :(

Don't even know how I did it but I braved the sub-zero temperature in this pink lace number from Topshop. Was randomly scrolling through their website (as you do) late at night one day and managed to snag the last one they had in my size! Really reminded me of the Three Floor dresses which I already have but are back in Singapore.. (the woes of living in between 2 closets across the world)

Heels for the night ~

On the first day of CNY, it hardly felt like it since I had school as per usual....

Made a rather impromptu decision to go out for dinner at a Korean restaurant! Glad I made the decision to ditch work for dinner. Would've been so sad sitting at home and working on the first day of CNY.. haha.

There was more food but was just too hungry to snap away..
Ate so much this past week I vowed to stop stuffing myself but so far, it isn't really working out. Doesn't help that I've constant cravings & have to fulfill them asap or I'll be thinking about it the whole time....

With these lovelies/fellow foodies! First time all of us took a picture in Chinatown despite this being our final year here.. Whipped out a selfie stick in the middle of the road. Selfie level: Definitely Asian. hahahaha

The red lights cast on Manchester's town hall and lanterns hanging from the trees. Glad that Manchester put quite a bit of effort into decorating the city in lieu of CNY. Helped me get more into the CNY spirit!

Will most probably finally be back in Singapore next CNY for the first time in 4 years!

Looking forward to all the yummy food and goodies!
