SURPRISE x Fat Cow

So.... My mom surprised me on Sunday morning with a ticket to the Kim Soo Hyun fan meet on the same day!! Definitely did not see that coming!

Even if you aren't an avid k-drama watcher, I'm sure most of you know who he is. If you don't, he's a korean actor & his latest drama You Who Came From the Stars is extremely popular.
I only ever mentioned in passing to my mom that I wanted to go to his fan-meet but pretty much forgot about it after.. Even though I like him as DO MIN JOON + he's definitely not bad looking at all, I'm not totally crazy over him. There are definitely more hardcore fans out there, which I witnessed first-hand at the fan-meet.... LOL. Nonetheless, when my mom handed me the ticket, it was a pleasant surprise :)

the golden ticket ;)

As it was more of a fan-meet rather than a concert, it felt quite cosy despite being a packed-out hall @ Singapore Expo.
The whole fan-meet was quite interactive & I felt like I was watching a variety game show at times!

I guess Kim Soo Hyun appeals to people of all ages because I saw many "older women" at the fan-meet, some of whom were probably old enough to be my grandmother.... Some of them were even more excited than the younger girls.. HAHA.

I didn't really take a lot of pics since photo-taking + video recording was prohibited & security was quite tight.
But of course, I'm a rebel so I snuck my camera in and took them when no one was looking (tbh, this is probably just about the most rebellious thing I've done in my entire life....)

Do Min Joon is real!!

Before the show, grabbed a quick bite at this Japanese restaurant in Singapore expo since the event was being held there as well.
Food took really long to come out & service was slow....
Sorry to say but Ippudo still serves the best ramen.

Went to Fat Cow yesterday because I can't leave SG without having their wagyu donburi!

Fat Cow Wagyu Donburi

Foie Donburi

New set of nails for the UK!
Chose this design because my nails grow quite fast & I figured it wouldn't be as obvious when they grow out, since the base is a nude shade.
Inspired by fishnet stockings ~

~

I'm heading back to the UK & exams are just around the corner for me so I doubt I'll have much time to update frequently for the next month or so.. :(
Can't wait for my summer break when I'll have the luxury of time. Will be able to post more often & do whatever I want then! Made quite a few plans for the summer already!
1 month to go!

NEW CAMERA {Casio EX-ZR1200} x Review

FINALLY found it!
'It' being my new camera - the Casio EX-ZR1200.
This is one of Casio's newest models & I've had my eye on it for quite sometime.
Since Casio is a Japanese brand, asked my parents to help me get it when they went there on holiday around 2 months ago but it was sold out. It was also out of stock (in white color) as well in SG when I went to check recently. Didn't realize it was that popular!
Thankfully, this kind saleswoman remembered me & helped me reserve it in white as soon as it arrived in store! When I went to collect it, it was the only one left in that color.. Guess it was my lucky day :)

I already have a Canon DSLR and digital cameras from other brands.. However, the array of unique features on Casio's ZR1200 camera are what drew me to it.

- Some of the functions which stood out to me -

1) SIZE + WEIGHT
Lugging around a DSLR daily would be impractical & just plain tedious. So size + weight were definitely significant factors in determining my choice of camera.
Not only is the ZR1200 compact, it is considerably light as well!

2) MAKE-UP MODE
Of course, being a typical girl, this was definitely an attractive feature.
There are 12 levels of make-up so you can adjust it according to your preference.
Smoothes out your skin & gives it the "glowy" effect - just like makeup!

3) FLIP SCREEN
Another major bonus is that the ZR1200 has various functions that make it good for shooting selfies, one of which is its flip screen!

4) HAND SENSOR
Set your camera to sensor mode and with just a wave of your hand, it takes your picture automatically. Technology nowadays never ceases to amaze me..

5) BUILT-IN MINI TRIPOD
Another useful feature if you want to take a picture hands-free.

6) WI-FI FUNCTION
This camera is compatible with a wi-fi memory card.
Basically, the wi-fi function enables you to send pictures directly from your camera to your phone!
Personally, I find this way more efficient than having to plug a cable into your computer every time you want to upload a picture.
For all you instagram users out there, I'm sure you'll appreciate this feature ;)

I could go on about the various other features so here is a link to their website with all the listed specifications of this particular camera in detail:
Here are some pictures I took using this camera:

All pics are taken with make-up mode (level +12 - the highest level). Not wearing actual makeup apart from a thin layer of BB cream + no extra editing!

Casio also has a more compact camera made specifically for selfies - the TR350. However, the reason why I decided to get the ZR1200 instead was because I wanted a proper digital camera, not only to take selfies, but for when I travel, etc. Anyhow, with similar functions to the TR350, the TR1200 is still a great selfie camera + is significantly cheaper in price (the TR350 is over $1000).

^ the EX-TR350

Trust the Japanese to come up with such awesome functions!
Really satisfied with my latest purchase.
No more grainy iPhone pictures from now on!

Hope this mini review was somewhat helpful!

Hotpot 火锅 x New toy?

As my easter break in Singapore draws to a close, I've been scrambling to stuff myself with all my favorite foods. Need enough fats to store in my belly to last me till the next time I'm back, which will be in around one & a half months' time!

Went to JPOT @ VivoCity to eat another one of my favorites with the family - Hotpot 火锅 for dinner!
I hardly ever travel to VivoCity as its pretty much at the other end of the world for me, so its a little weird that I've found myself there twice in the span of 4 days.

Just key in your orders into the iPad!
So much faster & more convenient since you don't have to constantly wave to get the waiter's attention whenever you want to place an order.

LOBSTER SASHIMI.

Everyone has their own individual pot. Prefer this to sharing because its just so much easier + you get to choose your own broth according to your own preference.

Such a sinful dinner but so worth it but so sinful but so worth it. ;)

~

Had dessert again at St Marc Cafe! Been craving their matcha desserts ever since I went this past Saturday. & this time, I didn't forget to take pics before digging in!
Sorry if you're reading this in the middle of the night........ hahah.

~

All pictures were taken with my new toy btw! Did anyone notice the difference? ;)
Will be posting a separate post on it soon!
So happy I finally got it though! bye bye grainy iPhone pictures!

Anyhow, super lazy OOTD shot of what I wore to dinner x sneak peek of my new toy.

Easter Weekend! {Dinner x OOTD x Ripped jeans}

I'm sure most of you have heard/seen the Ah Boys to Men movie, especially if you're Singaporean.
In case you don't, it's about boys in the Singapore army, hence, the title.
Well, my dad booked tickets for the ABTM musical awhile back & only told us after.
Ended up going today anyways because, why not? I love watching musicals. Furthermore, the Singaporean musicals I've watched always make me laugh - nothing beats Singaporean humor!
To be quite honest though, I wasn't expecting much. Was quite skeptical as to how a movie would translate into a musical.
Ended up being really hilarious! Like the movie, watching the musical evoked a sense of patriotism in me as well.
Believe it or not, we Singaporeans definitely have a great sense of humor & know how to have a good time ;)
They announced that they would be adding an extra 8 shows due to the high demand so I would definitely recommend booking tickets to catch their musical if you're free!

Since the show was at Resorts World Sentosa, we headed to VivoCity since it was close by.
Had Poulet for dinner!
Thank goodness we managed to beat the dinner crowd because shortly after we arrived, a long queue began to form. Expected on a weekend in Singapore.

Escargots ~

Mashed potato

Ordered the whole chicken which was really juicy & tender! Slightly disappointed with their mushroom sauce though, but overall, it was a rather satisfactory meal!

Headed to St Marc's Cafe for dessert. Overdosed on matcha desserts & matcha drinks but of course, I forgot to take a picture........ Only remembered after we had completely wiped out everything.... UGH.
Anyways, highly recommend St Marc's if you're a matcha lover like me!

Out to lunch x OOTD

I always tend to stuff myself with food whenever I come back to SG for my breaks. Tried controlling my diet this time around but clearly, that didn't go according to plan. Definitely a struggle living in a food haven like SG.. LOL

MEE POK.
Try being away from SG for over 3 months if you think I'm being too overexcited over a bowl of mee pok.
Da bao'ed (takeaway) for lunch the other day since I prefer to eat in the comfort of my own home.
Can't decide whether living in an area highly populated with good food is a blessing or not. hahah

Nam Nam Noodle Bar for lunch after a visit to the dermatologist the other day.
Beef Pho & their salad = PHO-tastic (sorry I just had to).

Had a quick lunch in town this afternoon with my mom & her friend today. I've been craving for Paradise Dynasty's noodles for too long so that's where we went!
FINALLY.
Ordered 2 trays of their famous XLB's as well. They're well known for their different flavored XLB's.
No pics though because the usual excuse - was too hungry to bother to whip out my phone.
If you like foie gras, you should definitely try their foie gras flavored XLB's.

担担面 / Dan Dan Mian!

If you're thinking of going down, just note that they don't accept bookings/reservations, only walk-ins.

Business Hours:
11a.m-10p.m (Mon-Fri)
10a.m-10p.m (Sat, Sun & PH)

Of course, no matter how full one is, there is always still room for dessert. I actually have a separate compartment in my stomach for dessert alone ;)
I've been wanting to pay a visit to Paris Baguette Cafe, which is a famous cafe/bakery oringinally from Korea. Although my mom was in heels & hardly walks anywhere (case in point: she drives from ion to get to takashimaya), she relented & we walked to their Wisma Atria branch from ION to grab coffee & dessert!

Was rather impressed with the plush furnishing although the cafe is in the middle of the mall & is not enclosed.

Random pic while waiting for the food....

Ordered the strawberry cake (reminded me of the one at Antoinette) + Haha Family chocolate cake.
If I'm not mistaken, I think the HaHa Family cake is inspired by HaHa from Running Man? I don't know the correlation between HaHa and chocolate cake though so I could be totally wrong.. LOL.

& of course, a visit to Paris Baguette Cafe would not have been complete without buying what they're famous for - their Royal Pudding. Bought some to bring home & try!

TODAY'S OOTD

Today was definitely a dress-down kinda day.
First time wearing these Topshop shoes which I scored for just slightly over 15GBP (around $30) if I remember correctly? Even my mom told me not to lie after I told her they were from Topshop - she thought I had secretly bought this from Alexander Wang........ HAHA.
Just goes to show that high street items can sometimes rival their designer counterparts :)

Can't believe I've been back in SG for nearly 2 weeks already.

BACK IN THE +65.

*BACK IN SG / +65*

As soon as I got off the plane, I instantly felt the blistering heat.
Whereas I would have complained before, SG's 365-days-summer was a welcome relief after being in single digit (dC) weather for the past 3 months!

Got this outfit back in the UK a few weeks ago but was unable to wear it as the weather didn't permit. Brought it back to SG to make full use of it!
No more being bundled up in chunky knits & puffy jackets.
Finally able to reclaim my summer wardrobe!

Matching top & bottom set: Miss Selfridge // Shoes: Isabel Marant // Chanel perfume iPhone case

Taiwanese food for lunch at Shin Yeh (Liang Court branch) ~
Had the steamed crab with glutinous rice!
They were quite generous with the crab & the egg roe (the best part!)

Complimentary dessert - Muah Chee (glutinous rice balls).

Ordered an extra dessert since we still had space.
Mango shaved ice!
