CAROUSELL : Clothes for sale!

Spring cleaning my closet has led me to the conclusion that I need to stop shopping on impulse.
Uncovered quite a bit of clothing hidden in the depths of my closet, many of which I completely forgot about & have hardly worn (some not even worn at all!!).

I've to admit, parting with my stuff is not easy for me at all. I guess I'm what some refer to as a 'hoarder'.... :/ The only motivation I had for putting all this stuff up for sale was so that I'll have space again.
Starting was the hardest bit, but as I went along, I surprisingly found it easier to put my clothes in the "deserves-a-better-home pile"!

Speaking of which, I've just updated my Carousell account with some of the stuff I've cleared from my closet!
If you've never heard of Carousell, its basically a downloadable mobile app, allowing you to shop from the comfort of your phone!

My Carousell username : nicsammx
Direct link : carousell.co/nicsammx

The items I'm selling on Carousell are in pristine, almost brand new, condition. I've hardly/never worn or used them so rest assured!

If you're interested in any item, communicating with the respective seller is really convenient - just initiate a 'chat' via Carousell. So if you're interested in any of my items, feel free to comment on the image or start a chat with me!

I'll be updating my Carousell with more items within the next few days!
Upcoming additions will include bags, accessories, etc.. so do a keep look out for new things in case you see something you like!
As the saying goes, "one man's trash is another man's treasure". Only difference is that what I'm selling is probably way better than trash.. Haha.

Shop away!

Errands day! / New nails / Updates

I've been somewhat MIA on this space for the past week or so..
I've to admit, ever since coming back from the UK, I've mostly been whiling away my time unproductively. If not that, then being deep in dreamland..
I got back near the beginning of this month so the jet lag excuse doesn't exactly work anymore. I think as the days passed, I was sleeping just for the sake of sleeping.. just because I'm on summer break & I can.... haha.
Going to try & be more productive.... starting NOW.
This is me..
& still me.
HAHA.

********

Today was actually one of my more productive days.
Managed to get myself out of the house & headed down to town to run some errands.

Was craving for some japanese so I had a quick, fuss-free lunch @ Itacho Sushi, ION before running my errands.
Since I was alone for lunch, my food pictures appear rather miserable.. LOL.
Itacho is definitely better when you've company - you'll probably be able to sample a larger variety of food since you'll have more people to share it with.

New nails
A manicure was definitely long overdue so I finally found the time to get one today!
Decided on something simple since it was a last minute appointment & I had no particular design in mind.
So far, my manicurist always delivers, & today was no different. She's really skilled in nail art but even with a simple design, she somehow manages to make it better than what I had in mind.
Another thing is that she doesn't try to hard sell me other services, like what I've recently experienced from another place (a story that shall be saved for another time..).

Outfit details #NICSAMMXOOTD
Top: Izzue // Shorts: StyleNanda // Lace skirt: StyleNanda // Shoes: Zara // Bag: Saint

Bought the top, shorts & skirt all from the I.T. store at Orchard Gateway where they house these labels alongside many others!

New mall // Shopping x Orchard Gateway

On the way for some retail therapy.

Orchard Gateway is the latest addition to Orchard Road. As if we needed anymore malls added to our consumerism belt that is Orchard Rd.. haha.
I can actually predict myself being a frequent shopper here, hence more damage to my wallet........ :/

The purpose of my trip to Orchard Gateway yesterday was to check out the new I.T. store it houses.
I.T. carries a range of different brands from various countries - from 5CM, AAPE by Bathing Ape.... to the ever so anticipated korean label STYLENANDA.
For those who like street fashion, the labels in the I.T. store will be right up your alley.

Truthfully, the only thing on my mind when I visited I.T. was 'I've to get something from STYLENANDA.' Surprisingly, I ended up buying a bit more than expected from other brands as well!
One of my favorite labels in I.T. other than STYLENANDA is probably 5CM from Hong Kong. They carry edgy pieces for both men & women. Actually bought a men's top for myself.. haha. Prices aren't that steep considering the quality of the clothing.

Loving the decor.
Felt like I was shopping in a high-end boutique!

Decided on lunch at Noodle Place Restaurantalso in Orchard Gateway after all that shopping.
Roast platter - roast pork & roast duck.
Was decent but I think I'll always remain biased towards Imperial Treasure's roasts.

They're known for their wonton noodles so I had to order it.
I've been wanting to make a trip to HK mainly for their food so its a good thing I know where to get my authentic HK wanton noodle fix in SG now!

For those people who don't like soup, the dry version is available.

I like how our malls are linked underground in SG (e.g. Wisma, Taka & Ion) so we don't have to face melting in the heat while walking from one mall to the next.
Now Orchard Gateway is linked to Orchard Central as well!

Definitely going back to Orchard Gateway soon to explore more!
I feel like I've more things to buy as well even though I probably ransacked the whole I.T. store already....

WEDS {Cravings satisfied x #OOTD}

Light lunch at Koh Grill & Sushi Bar, Wisma Atria after having a rather full breakfast this morning.
Was the first in line for lunch time but shortly after there was a long queue right behind us, so do be prepared to queue during peak hours.
Pitan/century egg tofu

Rather sad looking hamachi (yellowtail) sashimi.. LOL.

Usually get their signature Shiok! maki so I settled on something different this time around - Pitan (century egg) maki.
ps/. from experience, their Shiok maki takes quite awhile to arrive so if you're in a hurry, order the Pitan maki because it definitely arrived much faster!

#04-21, Wisma Atria Shopping Centre, 435 Orchard Road

Always have a separate stomach for dessert.
Found this sign in the restaurant rather amusing. HAHA.
They've plenty of other signs with similar witty captions in Singlish - all part of their retro deco.

White fungus + mango pomelo desserts.
Really refreshing especially in Singapore's heat right now!

Back home for summer! // 新加坡

Back home for summer break!
Touched down early Sunday morning.
Been spending the last few days suffering from jet lag - basically sleeping my afternoons away & only waking up in the evenings. Trying to adjust my body clock now so hopefully my sleeping schedule will be back to SG time soon.

Planning on acting like a tourist in SG & finding new places to go this summer.
Can't wait for my upcoming trips as well! Being more of a homebody, I'm not usually too keen on traveling, preferring to just chill at home. But a getaway has definitely been overdue especially after this semester in school. I need to recharge my battery.
Planning for the trips has got me even more hyped as well!

Some updates

Came home to quite a few packages of stuff I purchased online, this bag being one of them.
Pre-ordered it quite awhile ago & by the time it arrived I was already back in the UK.
"$TYLE IS NEVER FOR FREE".

Monday's dinner @ Gyoza Ya, Orchard Robinsons.

JyaJya Men
Never heard of this noodle dish before this but it seems to be the Japanese version of the Korean jajangmyeon.
After you're done with your noodles, they'll pour hot water into your bowl of leftovers, along with miso to season your soup & an egg to crack into it if you wish.
The soup tasted rather bland but it might be because I added too little miso. Nonetheless, quite a good way of maximizing the usage of leftovers.. Haha.

Of course, there's always room for dessert!
If you don't already know, I'm a huge fan of matcha anything so we decided to try Dolce Tokyo @ Somerset 313.

Whenever I come back for holidays, I tend to put on weight due to all the easily accessible good food surrounding me.
Since being back I've been having really hearty meals for breakfast - unusual since I usually skip what is supposedly the most important meal of the day, preferring to use that extra time to sleep in.. I guess good food is motivation enough to wake up early. HAHA.
Prawn mee from the food market near my place for breakfast! x my daily cup of matcha latte.

Even the McDonald's back home tastes better..

SUMMER x London // Dialing 999 ?!

Finished with exams on Tuesday.
Officially summer break for me!!

Made quite a last minute decision to head down to London yesterday since I haven't been there in awhile.

The view on the train journey // the English countryside.

One of my pitstops whenever I'm in London is Harrods.
Even if you don't get anything, window shopping in Harrods still never gets boring.
It's THE disneyland for shopaholics.

Had lunch at one of my favorite places for steak - The Steakhouse @ the Harrods food-hall.
You get to choose the type/cut of meat & how many grams of it you want. They've a butcher who will prepare it for you & then send it off to the kitchen who will cook it. I like watching what goes on in the kitchen so their bar/open-kitchen concept is great because you get to watch the chefs in action.

My 150g steak with their truffle & marscapone sauce.
SO GOOD. Getting hungrier with each word I type.... Its slightly pricy but definitely worth it!

The next place I always visit in London, apart from Harrods, is Selfridges.
Yes, I only go to London to shop.... ;)
Went to the Chrome Hearts store in Selfridges! The last time I visited, they didn't have any clothing in stock yet, but I managed to get what I was looking for this time!
Don't get your hopes up if you're planning on visiting their store though. Selection was quite limited & the pieces I managed to get were the last ones in their size, color & design..
CH Store

My loot.
This is already considered me having self-control....

Dinner was at Scoff & Banter in the Radisson Blu hotel.
My leek & onion soup.

Anne's burger.

Really enjoyed myself on my mini day trip. Made me miss my year in London!
Finally got to catch up with one of my fav Arabs from foundation days, Rifa, & her sister, even though it was quite last minute as well :)

Took the train back after dinner & that's when my day started to get more "exciting" (or rather, took a turn for the worst..). Train got delayed so many times. Once because a passenger got on the wrong train & needed to get off since it was the last train. Shortly after, everyone had to get on a new train because they kept resetting the system but the brakes were still faulty.

Got back way past midnight & was already so tired out by then.
Now this is where the most dramatic part of my night starts..
Leading to my apartment is an alley. Walked halfway through that alley & could make out a BODY at the foot of my apartment entrance. At this point, being all alone in that alley at night, I was naturally quite scared. Called out to see if the person was conscious a few times. No response. I started panicking because once the clock strikes midnight, a bunch of rowdy/drunk people always seem to start to emerge.
Thank goodness my friend Anne's accommodation is right across the street from mine. Kept knocking on the glass door of her place to get the security guard to let me in so I wouldn't have to stay on the streets.
Ended up calling the POLICE.... They kept asking me over the phone to provide them with descriptions about the "body" (i.e. race, around how old, is he breathing, etc) & the only thing I would reply with was "I don't know because I'm too scared to go closer.." HAHA. Honestly if the guy was dying he probably would've already died after such long phone call....
I was already quite tired out by then because it was past 1a.m. Thank goodness Anne came down to accompany me even though she was in her pajamas (LOL).... I probably would've cried there & then otherwise (thanks Anne!). Being tired & being unable to enter your apartment because a body is blocking the door is not exactly the best combination....
They eventually said they would dispatch an ambulance.
An ambulance came & we brought them to the guy. Turns out it was a drunk homeless guy. Was still quite afraid to go back to my apartment because he was still lying there. Who knew whether he was crazy or not.... Apparently the ambulance crew couldn't move him as it was the police's job to do so.... So even through the night the drunk homeless guy just continued to lay right outside the entrance door....
Thank goodness one of the ambulance crew said he would walk me back down the alley to my apartment. He had to ask the homeless guy to move just a bit since the door would hit him in the head if he continued laying there. Drunk homeless guy just said no, muttered some curse words, said something incoherently, & continued sleeping!
Really don't know what to make of this whole situation..

I know I'm probably overreacting to some but this is such a stark contrast to Singapore that I couldn't help but be quite shaken up. Highly doubt there are many drunk homeless guys lying outside apartment entrances in Singapore....
As if I couldn't wait to be back home already, now I want to be back even more! Feel so much safer & at peace in Singapore!
Even as I type this post now, I can hear people, probably already drunk, yelling on the streets & its only 8p.m here.
Never ever taking how safe Singapore is for granted ever again..

Can't wait to get out of here....
& TO BE BACK HOME SOON.
