Sunday outfit + YSL arty

Outfit I wore out for dinner today ~
Blouse: Flynow III (thai label)
Velvet shorts: Topshop
Bag: Prada mini
Sunglasses: Prada baroque
Sandals: Dune (Selfridges London)

.
.

Since YSL changed its designer and name to saint laurent, they are phasing out some of their items, arty rings included (AIN'T LAURENT WITHOUT YVES).
Decided to add to my collection before they were completely phased out - some people invest in the stock market. Likewise, I invest in select designer goods instead of stocks ;) Was lucky enough to stumble across my size in these rings (size 5).
The 2 new rings in my collection is the one in the center (navy and gold specks, rose gold plating) and the one on the bottom right (pearly white, gold plated)

1) Arty rose gold plated, gold-flecked navy stone

2) Arty gold-plated, cream glass

Sad to see a YSL classic being phased out.. I got my first arty over 2 years ago and it's been one of my go-to statement pieces whenever I want to dress up a boring/plain outfit since!
If you want to get your hands on it, don't hesitate! Pretty sure you won't regret it!

Another pitstop in my food adventure trail. After being tortured by pictures of Saveur on instagram, I finally got the chance to exact some revenge and post delicious photos of my own! Went down to their flagship restaurant at Purvis Street. This branch does not open all day and only opens for dinner at 6p.m. Got to the restaurant 15 minutes early and a queue had already started to form. I couldn't work out if it was just because it was a Sunday night or whether it was really that popular - probably a combination of both. To cut to the chase, it was a delicious dinner! Of course, with the price considered really reasonable for french food, don't be expecting any frills.

Food adventures! (Singaporean style)

Atsu Atsu Tan Tan Udon

Tsuru-Koshi
Takashimaya Basement Japanese Food Court

Some have gone so far as to proclaim this one of the best udon stalls in Singapore. I would say it comes close! Really reasonably priced as well. Love the onsen tamago!

Roast duck and char siew made using charcoal

ĉ˜Žĉ™şçƒ§è…Š (Ming Zhi Roasted Delicacies), 30 Foch Road

Tucked away in a humble coffeeshop, appearances may fool you - the long drive from my neighborhood in the quest of trying the rare method of using charcoal to cook roast duck & char siew was worth it!
If you trust my taste-buds and want to try it for yourself, better go as soon as possible as it will be closing down in around a week or so.

Lim Seng Lee teochew braised duck rice

Another duck place that was closing. Lim Seng Lee was one of the places on my go-to-when-I'm-back-in-Singapore list when I was still in the UK. Braved the PSI reading of 300+ and the haze to try their famous duck just 2 days before they closed. I regret not discovering this place sooner. To make up for this, we ordered 2 servings of duck to share between 2 + a rice and porridge each.

Embarking on another food adventure next week! Hence, more mouth-watering visuals to come!

Bedroom makeover? (fashionfoodx edition)

I've been wanting to redecorate my room for quite sometime now.. However, I've been rather hesitant as this entails selling my current bed, study desk, chair, drawer, and shelf - nearly all the furniture in my room. The fact that I've had my current furniture from at least the age of 4 and that they were my first pieces of furniture when I first moved into my own proper room, does not make letting go of them any easier. I feel like my furniture have grown up with me, which is why I find it so hard to let go. I know the way I talk about parting with my furniture is as if I'm breaking up with a boyfriend may sound silly to some, but I'm just a sentimental person when it comes to my personal items (some would differ and call it hoarder but I don't believe so..).

Recently, after much browsing, I've been warming to the idea of redecorating my room. After all, change is not necessarily easy, but it has to come sooner or later right?

Here are some visuals that have sparked my inspiration for redecorating my room ~

1) Bed

Option A ~ White lacquer bed

Option B ~ Parisian chic

Option C ~ Mirrored bed

Haven't really settled on one option yet. Really in a dilemma as the look of all 3 vary, but I love them all! The only problem is that I can't really find a company that makes mirrored beds in Singapore.. If any of you know of any sources, please drop me a message! Would really be a massive help! As of now, I'm slightly gravitating towards the white lacquered bed, as I think simplicity can speak volumes. Also going for the more modern, clean, all white look. However, the other 2 options would probably add some character to my room as well.. ahhhh I keep going back and forth, back and forth!
Tell me which is your favorite bed, I would love to know! It would probably help my indecisiveness!

2) Bedside tables

3) Study desk

Again, going down the modern, minimalist, all-white route.

4) Chair (for study desk)

This office chair is from the designer brand, Eames. Love it, but am going to find out the price at the very last minute so I don't fall off my chair (punny) just yet..

.
.

I want to create a little cozy corner in a section of my room where I can just sit down and read a book or just chill..

5) Mini 'lounge' area

'Barcelona' day bed

'Barcelona' chair

I can imagine a coffee table edition of VOGUE 'floating' on the surface of an acrylic coffee table.. so chic!

.
.

I would love to hear any of you guy's preferences/suggestions!
I'll be sure to update this space on any room updates (hopefully in the near future)!

I love PHO! + Hokkaido Food Fair

Today was yet another mini-"adventure" with my mom. We decided it was time to visit the Hokkaido Food Fair at Isetan Shaw Centre to indulge! Our family used to go to Japan almost every year since 2006. I guess you could say we had, and still have, a mini love affair with Japan - Hokkaido in particular. Unfortunately we haven't visited since 2010 (a pretty long time for us Japan loving people), due to our clashing schedules and the fact that I'm studying abroad half the time.
Also, I've been going through an anything-Japanese-food phase lately. So when I was randomly browsing the net and chanced upon Isetan's Facebook post that they would be holding a Hokkaido fair, you can imagine my excitement!

Didn't really take too many pictures though.. Sorry, I'm still trying to get used to the whole taking-pictures-for-my-blog thing.. Was just too enthralled by all the food surrounding me!

The Hokkaido food fair reminded me of a typical supermarket in Japan - especially the fact that they let you try some of the food (the best part)!

ORANGE GOODNESS ~ IKURAAAA

Green tea (matcha) gelato!
My favorite ice cream flavor just in case anyone out there wants to buy more for me ;)
ps/. if you happen to be in Ion and see unexplainable green drops on the floor.. GULTY.. heheh

Supermarket shopping (asian) swag ft. my go-to pose :-P
I look kinda "auntie" with the Isetan plastic bag resting in the nook of my arm omg.. hahah

Goryokaku don ~
This cost $25. Before you frown at the price tag for a seemingly small bowl of rice, please take into consideration all the mouth-watering-good-quality-amazingness (no better way to describe it tbh) that is included in the $25 price tag - Uni, scallop/hotate sashimi and hokkaido crabmeat!
Literally bolted towards the counter when I saw this on display from a distance. The auntie and japanese chef at the booth probably both thought I hadn't eaten in days....

Bought cheesecake from the Hokkaido fair as well but that got devoured up all too quickly - proof that it was THAT yummy!

I keep thinking about the grilled scallops and big fat juicy prawns I saw but didn't get, so I'm definitely going to be paying the Hokkaido fair another visit before it closes to stop all those torturous cravings.

Shaw House, 1 Scott Road, Singapore 228208
From 14th June - 24th June

Before heading to the Hokkaido food fair, we had lunch at Nam Nam Noodle Bar, Wheelock Place. Have been wanting to go there since I was back in the UK after hearing all the great reviews. The set lunch we ordered included included a piping hot bowl of (beef) pho and fresh southern spring rolls w/ shrimp. Priced at $9, it's definitely reasonable! Not sure whether hearing everybody rave made me think it was good, whether the wait made it tastier, or whether it was just plain nice. Either way, I really enjoyed it! Apparently, unlike many other food joints, they claim that they don't use MSG in their food.  Nam nam noodle bar will definitely be seeing more of this face, especially cos I won't have to worry about my hair falling out after eating it!

Set lunch for $9 ~ Beef pho x fresh southern spring rolls w/ shrimp
Photastic, pho sho! (sorry, just couldn't resist.. twice)

Of course, not forgetting my OOTD (Outfit of the day) :) ~
Clearly I was feeling orange today.
Top: KON (Thai label)
Shorts: KON
Ring: Lucien elements, Angelica ring (rose gold)

Really love full set outfits and was so happy to find this from KON on my previous trip to BKK! Going back to BKK again in about a month's time and thinking of doing a post on my favorite Thai designers/labels when I do. For the most part, they definitely don't hurt you wallet as much as the standard western designer label. At the same time, I do think Thai designers could easily rival their Western counterparts!

Do you guys have any favorite designers/labels that you feel don't get enough credit and recognition? Please do share!

♡ Bits of my life ♡

The past 2 months have definitely been one heck of a roller coaster ride! At first, the roller coaster of my life started out cruising, only with slight bumps along the way in the form of boring law-related words swimming around on a 20 pages of paper. Then came the steep drops that leave your stomach in your throat which mainly came in the form of some nasty exams. However, it could only have ever gone up from there. The chug-a-chug of the roller-coaster climbing its way back to the peak is steadily gaining momentum with each shopping trip, eating good food or just lying in bed watching the Kardashians just cos' I can :) Enjoying the view from up here! As of now, I'd rather get stuck on this roller-coaster ride than come down.. ;)

Just some random moments captured through my iphone's lens and Instagram's selection of filters! ~

Lazing in bed in my pink jammies.
Spot the Furby ;)

Another pic in bed.. again. Clearly my favorite hangout

Bulking up on chilli cheese fries, bacon cheese fries and burgers! (UK)

Mini bag plugs/charms! loveeee <3

First time shopping on instagram! the new way to online shop ;)

Laduree goodies all pretty in pink ~ Rose home fragrance x Les Merveuilles rose petal blush shade #01

Panda wears Prada (get it?)

Latest bag buy! Mini bags are in right now! Love how cute this Prada mini looks on and how convenient it is, especially when I'm on the go. Attached the limited edition Prada bear keychain to it. <3

Matcha cream flavored pocky my mom brought over from SG to the UK for me to snack on whilst studying for exams. Got to love asian snacks!

My 2nd bedroom in the UK that I call home for most part of the year. Kinda miss it now that I'm back in SG.

Had to go to Fat Cow once I got back to SG! ~ Wagyu beef w/ Onsen egg <3

Laksa for breakfast! One of the many reasons why I'm glad to be back in SG for the summer!

Colorful XLB's/soup dumplings @ Paradise Dynasty, SG.

Ahhhh absolutely loving my nails done by Belle! Cupcakes x rainbows x unicorns = wasting my time constantly staring at them/flashing my nails in public ;) Makes me so happy everytime I look at them
You can find her contact number/shop address + designs on instagram ~ her username is @glitzyfingers.
I would imagine nail art requires quite a bit of skill, especially because the nail surface is rather small to work with. Honestly think she did quite a good job, considering how the unicorn (the most difficult one to draw imo) actually looks like a proper unicorn! haha!
She only does gel for both mani and pedi though, starting from $38 and $48 respectively. If you compare it to other nail salons, it's such a reasonable price! Maybe I find it reasonable also due to the fact that I convert everything into pounds since studying in the UK ~ a gel manicure for around 19GBP is considered an absolute bargain in the UK.. or rather, impossible, if you're hoping for a good job to be done..
Will definitely be going back to do my nails with her! Already thinking of what design I should get next.. ;)
ps/. this is not a sponsored post (I wish though!). Just thought good things should be shared!

Major foodporn! Premium chirashi don @ the Sushi Bar, FEP. Priced at $38, I think it's worth it considering how the quality is not compromised for affordability!

OOTD appropriate for Singapore's blazing heat.

$9 bak chor mee and fish maw soup from the hawker centre. Expensive for hawker food, but it is quite a generous serving. My excuse? - I need to fill up on all this food for the next 3 months in order to last me for the next 3 months after that when I'm back in the UK!
