Food Coma.

Made a rather hasty day trip to London to attend the bar (in the legal sense) fair.
Being back in London always make me miss my year of living there. Weather was perfect, shopping was successful, & the food was worth every bit of extra weight I probably piled on.

Had lunch at Dinings restaurant after a friend recommended it.
With the various tapas dishes on the menu, this place is especially apt if you're dining in a rather big group as you can share.

Tar tar chips {Seared Wagyu beef w chilli miso + "Toro" fatty tuna w wasabi-jalapeño}

Sea bass carpaccio with truffles & ponzu jelly.

Ordered sushi & a main course for myself too.
Uni w quails egg + Ikura. Everything was really fresh!

My main course - Char grilled Wagyu beef steak donburi.
Wagyu beef was good but overall, this dish tasted similar to a dish served in a Chinese restaurant.. I still remain steadfastly loyal to Fat Cow's wagyu donburi.

Soft shell crab roll that some of my friends had.
This is 2 orders. It had mixed reviews from my friends. Didn't try it so can't really comment.. Does look good though!

Wagyu beef bun.

Anne's main course - Fresh water eel & foie gras donburi. According to her, the unagi & foie gras wasn't a good combination. Again, I'm sure Fat Cow's version is better.

DESSERT.. was a definite win! Tried both the creme brûlée with matcha ice-cream + truffle ice-cream
My favorite was the creme brûlée. Who knew creme brûlée & matcha ice-cream would compliment each other & make such a perfect pairing?

We racked up a bill of £200+. For a party of 5 people, & taking the quality of the food into consideration, I think it was worth the indulgence!
Definitely returning the next time I go to London to sample more of the tapas dishes, sushi & dessert!

After shopping, hopped in a cab to Shoryu (Regent St. branch). Realized we had minimal time to enjoy the ramen we had been yearning for as we were rushing to catch the last train back to Mcr. Thus, when we were greeted by a line, our hearts immediately sank. Still, we knew we couldn't pass ramen up & waited in line. Thankfully, we managed to get a table after 15 minutes or so! Service was really efficient.
My ramen + had matcha latte as well. Still prefer Ippudo in SG. But after being in MCR which lacks authentic ramen, Shoryu was heaven to me. No complaints here.
