Shirt Dress #OOTD // FAT COW FIX

This white shirt dress from Korea is hands down, one of my favorite recent purchases to date!
Although I would love to share where I bought this lovely piece from, its from Korea and unfortunately has no brand/label.. :( If you wanna score some great finds though, definitely do think of taking a trip to Korea because that country is pretty much fashion (beauty too, of course) mecca!

It can be quite the struggle to find nice fitting shirts sometimes so I was pleasantly surprised to find that this particular shirt dress fit me to a tee - baggy enough to be boyfriend-shirt worthy yet still flattering on my petite frame.
Especially love how the boyfriend fit of this shirt dress is contrasted with the sheer lace panel on the bottom. An unexpected twist which gives the finishing touch to this outfit. So pleased with this find :)
Kept my accessories to a minimum since this outfit pretty much speaks for itself. Adorned my neck with a chunky pearl necklace to complement the outfit - pearls are always a classic.

Oh, and just in case you were wondering.. YES I am wearing a pair of white shorts underneath although it may not look like it....

Was having a good hair day after dropping by the salon - a rarity for me these days because of the stupid hard water in the UK which makes my tresses go haywire (a rant for another day). So yeah, I guess that's why I went slightly shutter crazy.... hehe.

**

As per usual, I had to have my Fat Cow fix just before heading back to the UK.
If only they could open a branch in the UK so I could satisfy my cravings with ease.. :(

my fav combo of tai carpaccio, truffles & yuzu dressing. HEAVENLY.

Foie Gras Donburi

Fat Cow's signature wagyu donburi. That runny onsen egg.... URGH I shouldn't be looking at this at 1.30a.m!

Have a lovely weekend!

FOOD REVIEW: SYNC Korean Tapas Bar

This post is sure to pique the interests (and tummies) of Korean food enthusiasts and all foodies alike.

With the spate of newly established eateries and trendy cafes popping up in Serangoon Gardens, many have dubbed it "the next Holland Village". Since I live in the vicinity, I decided to explore my "backyard", so to speak.
After going to Korea this past July & taking a liking to Korean food, Sync Korean Tapas Bar, nestled in the heart of Serangoon Gardens, was one of the first places on my to-try list.
Nope, this contemporary eatery doesn't just dish up your traditional Korean fanfare.. They put their own spin on Korean flavors, serving Korean western fusion food a la tapas style in an east-meets-west concept.

The portions were just right - generous enough to fill my appetite. Between my 2 other dining companions & I, we wiped our plates clean and no morsel was left behind. Will definitely be reordering everything on my next visit!

At $49.90 for 6 tapas dishes, its safe to say that the prices are reasonably wallet-friendly.
Whether you're looking to try something new on the food scene, grab a quick bite or chill out with friends over a drink, this has my vote on being the spot to go.

T G I F ! !

BACK.
This blog has 9 lives so it'll never "die" no matter how many times I go missing on this space for a period of time - it'll always be revived.
HA HA.
Jokes aside though, I was away on holiday in Korea for 9 days, hence the absence on here. Will be back with part 2 of my Bangkok trip real soon after delaying it! Posts on my trip to Korea trip will be coming up right after that :)
That's pretty much it with the updates for now!

**

Went out to town today. Yes, again.... the only place I really ever seem to go to. I know I should start exploring more places in SG but town is my go-to destination for eating, shopping & whatever else because its just more convenient.

Main reason for going out today was to get more storage to fit all the stuff I've accumulated this summer, the bulk of which is from my Korea trip (upcoming posts soon!).

Also got my nails didddd.
Don't usually put 3D nail art because my hair is not dissimilar to that of a lion mane so it would be a pain to wash it with all that bling on my nails. BUT, since this set of nails are for my birthday, Y O L O. More bling for the occasion!

Satisfied my craving for sashimi at The Sushi Bar before my nail appointment. Had a late lunch since its open all day today. First time visiting their new branch on the 4th floor too.
Always order the Premium Chirashi Don whenever I'm at The Sushi Bar mainly for the UNI 😍. For what you get, the price is fairly reasonable!

Of course, no trip to town is complete without a spot of retail therapy.. Trying my best to curb my spending now though, especially after spending so much to boost Korea's economy (let's just call it that).

Ordered these pair of gladiator shoes quite awhile ago & I'm so glad I did - one of my best recent investments!
Wore them in Korea & they made for really comfy walking shoes.

Shirt: Korea // High-waist shorts: Korea // Bag: Chanel

See you soon!

Chilled Sunday evening x Dempsey

With many dining options in its vicinity, Dempsey is the place to be for foodies.
House at Dempsey used to be one of my go-to places whenever I was looking to just chill out & enjoy a fuss-free, yet yummy, meal. Haven't been there in awhile so made a spontaneous decision to head down for dinner on Sunday evening.
Only gripe I had about my meal is that quite a few things on the menu were not available due to the lack of certain ingredients, which resulted in switching our orders twice.. Apart from that, service was prompt, food was good & the atmosphere exuded the right balance of chill yet cosy vibes.

Ordered the squid ink pizza as my main even though it wasn't my first choice since my original order was one of the items that wasn't available. Fortunately, as weird as squid ink pizza sounds, I didn't end up regretting it. The crust was thin & crisp, just the way I like it too.

Non-alcoholic Mint Berry Fix.
A berry good cocktail (am I punny?)
Perfect drink for the summer.

Pineapple Pitstop.
Pineapple with 2 types of cucumbers.

& as the saying goes, "there is always room for dessert".
Thus, after doing some shopping, I got my froyo fix at Glacier in Orchard Gateway. I've never heard of this froyo brand before so I'm guessing its new to the froyo scene.
Upon seeing dispensing machines where you can dispense the froyo flavor of your choice yourself, I was more excited than I probably should've been. #cheapthrills #stillakid

In terms of toppings, there were quite a lot of options - both healthy & unhealthy!
Froyo was not bad, but after trying the best froyo from Pinkberry & Snog (both in London), this paled in comparison.

No prizes for guessing which froyo is mine.... Hint: I'm greedy.

****************

Yet another abrupt ending, but will be posting part 2 of my Bangkok trip soon so keep a lookout for that!

Errands day! / New nails / Updates

I've been somewhat MIA on this space for the past week or so..
I've to admit, ever since coming back from the UK, I've mostly been whiling away my time unproductively. If not that, then being deep in dreamland..
I got back near the beginning of this month so the jet lag excuse doesn't exactly work anymore. I think as the days passed, I was sleeping just for the sake of sleeping.. just because I'm on summer break & I can.... haha.
Going to try & be more productive.... starting NOW.
This is me..
& still me.
HAHA.

********

Today was actually one of my more productive days.
Managed to get myself out of the house & headed down to town to run some errands.

Was craving for some japanese so I had a quick, fuss-free lunch @ Itacho Sushi, ION before running my errands.
Since I was alone for lunch, my food pictures appear rather miserable.. LOL.
Itacho is definitely better when you've company - you'll probably be able to sample a larger variety of food since you'll have more people to share it with.

Crab chawamashi / uni sushi / salmon sashimi

Cold udon

New nails
A manicure was definitely long overdue so I finally found the time to get one today!
Decided on something simple since it was a last minute appointment & I had no particular design in mind.
So far, my manicurist always delivers, & today was no different. She's really skilled in nail art but even with a simple design, she somehow manages to make it better than what I had in mind.
Another thing is that she doesn't try to hard sell me other services, like what I've recently experienced from another place (a story that shall be saved for another time..).

Outfit details #NICSAMMXOOTD

Bought the top, shorts & skirt all from the I.T. store at Orchard Gateway where they house these labels alongside many others!

UPDATES

I've been spring cleaning my closet & realized I've way too much clothing & only 1 body. Will be selling lots of pre-loved items soon, so keep a look out for an upcoming post on that!

Also, just in case you haven't noticed, I've made some changes - to the url of this blog, as well as for my other social networking sites.
Check the post just below this one for all my new links!

Will be going out of the country for a short getaway this week, which I'll be blogging about as well.
Till then!

New mall // Shopping x Orchard Gateway

On the way for some retail therapy.

Orchard Gateway is the latest addition to Orchard Road. As if we needed anymore malls added to our consumerism belt that is Orchard Rd.. haha.
I can actually predict myself being a frequent shopper here, hence more damage to my wallet........ :/

The purpose of my trip to Orchard Gateway yesterday was to check out the new I.T. store it houses.
I.T. carries a range of different brands from various countries - from 5CM, AAPE by Bathing Ape.... to the ever so anticipated korean label STYLENANDA.
For those who like street fashion, the labels in the I.T. store will be right up your alley.

Truthfully, the only thing on my mind when I visited I.T. was 'I've to get something from STYLENANDA.' Surprisingly, I ended up buying a bit more than expected from other brands as well!
One of my favorite labels in I.T. other than STYLENANDA is probably 5CM from Hong Kong. They carry edgy pieces for both men & women. Actually bought a men's top for myself.. haha. Prices aren't that steep considering the quality of the clothing.

Loving the decor.
Felt like I was shopping in a high-end boutique!

Decided on lunch at Noodle Place Restaurantalso in Orchard Gateway after all that shopping.
Roast platter - roast pork & roast duck.
Was decent but I think I'll always remain biased towards Imperial Treasure's roasts.

They're known for their wonton noodles so I had to order it.
I've been wanting to make a trip to HK mainly for their food so its a good thing I know where to get my authentic HK wanton noodle fix in SG now!

For those people who don't like soup, the dry version is available.

Noodle Place Restaurant
176 Orchard Rd, Singapore 238843

I like how our malls are linked underground in SG (e.g. Wisma, Taka & Ion) so we don't have to face melting in the heat while walking from one mall to the next.
Now Orchard Gateway is linked to Orchard Central as well!

Definitely going back to Orchard Gateway soon to explore more!
I feel like I've more things to buy as well even though I probably ransacked the whole I.T. store already....
